CHAPTER SIX

“Here you go, Carrie,” Troy poured more red wine into my glass and handed it to me.

“Mmm, delicious,” I replied, taking a sip.

“I know something else that’s pretty delicious,” Troy teased, eyeing me sexily. I could feel his eyes roaming my curves, and I couldn’t help but blush. Troy made me squirm—in the best possible way.

Troy had fully recovered and had taken several days off work to spend time with me. Fletch had made himself scarce so it was just the two of us. We’d enjoyed getting to know one another; going for long walks, cooking together, and just talking. Troy was a quiet man with an intense thirst for knowledge and a strong desire to help others. His job as a research scientist at Kirby Labs suited him well. He strived to make a difference in the world.

“Carrie…” Troy moved closer to me.

“Troy, I…” I tried to think of something to say, but my words just wouldn’t come out. I swallowed hard.

“I want you babe,” Troy murmured huskily, his lips grazing my neck. “Do you mind?”

I don’t think it really mattered if I minded or not; Troy’s lips were insistent. He kissed me hard. For the past few days I could feel Troy’s desire for me, but he’d held back, taking things slow and easy—and I’d appreciated that. The house was large and Troy had given me a private room at the opposite end of the hall to the men’s rooms. Troy wanted me to feel comfortable and have the time and space to make sure I was ready. I was more than a little nervous. But now I could sense that he couldn’t wait any longer…and I didn’t want to, either.

I didn’t resist as he pulled my body closer to his and kissed me again. This was the man I was going to be with forever, and I wanted to feel, touch and taste every part of him. I melted into his arms and returned his kisses, our tongues exploring each others.

Just as Troy reached under my shirt and slid his hand upwards to my breasts, the key in the door turned and Fletch pushed open the door.

“Crap!” Troy growled as we pulled apart like disheveled teenagers.

Fletch’s eyes widened as he took in my messy hair and clothing.

“Hey, I uh…sorry,” he turned back towards the door. “I’ll come back later.”

“No, no, I was just going to bed,” Troy said. “I have to get to the lab super early tomorrow.”

Shit! I wanted Troy so badly I was practically creaming my panties. I couldn’t believe he was going to bed. Maybe he didn’t really want me?

Fletch frowned. “Are you sure? I mean, I’m happy to go for a run and come back later...”

“No worries bro. I do need to get up early.”

“Ok,” Fletch replied, “I’m going to get a drink. Do you all want another?”

Troy picked up the wine bottle from the coffee table. “There’s just a little left here. We’ll just finish this off.”
